Pages 197-242 | Published online: 23 Jan 2013

Abstract

The St. Mary’s Redevelopment Project in the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, involves construction of a 52-M.W. hydroelectric generating station using three horizontal bulb unit generators. The project serves as an example of how the site of an old hydroelectric generating station can be redeveloped in a technically and economically feasible manner, taking careful account of the environmental factors involved.
