ETUDE DE FAISABILITE DU PROJET ARCHIPEL DE MONTREAL

Pages 42-52 | Published online: 23 Jan 2013

Abstract

The aim of this study is to present a design approach for multiple purpose water projects, this approach can be applied on the feasibility level of design. The major feature of the model is the integration of sub-models which incorporate engineering and economic principles. The solution is determined by modeling present and future conditions and determining the needs and benefits of the system. In the event of user conflict, the resources are redistributed so as to maximize the total benefits derived from the sub-systems analysis. The economic benefits of the project are based on simple economic principles, such as the benefit-cost ratio or the internal rate of return. The analysis employs multiple criteria to permit the integration of factors other than the economic ones. Each factor is assigned a particular weight in the analysis. A numerical analysis is applied on the Montreal Archipelago Basin.
