Pages 47-57 | Received 15 Mar 2008, Accepted 10 Dec 2008, Published online: 17 Dec 2014

Abstract

Mixed methods research is becoming an increasingly popular approach in several fields. However, its application in business management has not been studied. The author reviews the application of mixed methods research in this field, showing the main purposes and designs used. An analysis of 99 mixed methods studies reveals opportunities associated with the application of this approach for the novice researcher. Several exemplary studies are described and recommendations are offered about how to use mixed methods research.
