Positive deviance: A labeling approach to the star syndrome in popular musicFootnote¹
Since this paper was written, John Lennon was tragically assassinated in New York City. Lennon was one of the very few able to successfully transcend the star syndrome, as described in this paper, though, tragically and ironically, even he could not escape its final implications. This paper is dedicated to his memory.
