So-called Craft: The Formative Years of Droog Design, 1992–1998

Timo de Rijk Timo de Rijk is associate professor of design history at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology. He studied art history at the University of Leyden, The Netherlands and got his PhD in 1998 on the thesis “The Electrical House: Design, and Marketing of Electrical Domestic Appliances in the Netherlands.” He has organized exhibitions on Frank Lloyd Wright, automotive design, and Dutch art deco, and was convener of the international conference “Design and Evolution of the Design History Society” (2006). He is a member of the art and design committee of the Raad voor Cultuur (Advisory Board of the Dutch Government) and chief editor of the Dutch Design Yearbook and Morf, a magazine on design.
