Abstract
A general one-parameter integral equation for liquids is derived that incorporates intrinsically both the famous Percus–Yevick and hyper-netted chain equations as special cases. To examine its accuracy and reliability, the equation is solved self-consistently to find the structure and thermodynamics of Lennard–Jones fluid successfully.
