Notes
* John Woodward (1665–1728) was one of the most important early British mineral collectors. His collection is conserved in its four original wooden cabinets at the Sedgwick Museum (formerly the Woodwardian Museum), Cambridge University, England. A detailed account of his collection and legacy has been given by Wilson (Citation1994).
