Abstract
Molecules containing xanthene moieties are known to have a diverse library of applications in medicinal, bioorganic, and agriculture chemistry. Xanthene structural fragments are prevalent in the structures of natural products and numerous synthetic bio-active molecules. Magnetically reusable catalysts with are becoming a major trend toward sustainable catalysts. Magnetic nanocatalysts are simply and efficiently removed from reaction mixtures with an external magnetic field. In recent times, magnetically reusable catalysts have been used to synthesize the xanthene scaffolds. In this review, we provide an overview of the application of magnetic nanomaterials as economical and efficient catalytic systems for synthesis of xanthenes scaffolds.
