Abstract
Vanadium substituted Molybdotungstophosphoric acid (H5PW6Mo4V2O40·14H2O) was observed to be an effective solid catalyst for one-pot synthesis of several quinoxaline derivatives from the condensation reaction between various substituted o-phenylenediamine and various aromatic benzil compounds in ethanol: water (1:1) solvent under the reflux condition. The catalytic activity was tested under different reaction conditions to know the performance of the synthesized catalysts. Excellent yield, short reaction time, simple workup procedure, and reusability of the catalyst are the prominent features of our synthetic route.
Graphical Abstract
We report a series of vanadium substituted molybdotungstophosphoric acid, H5[PW6Mo4V2O40]·14H2O as a catalyst for the synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives.
