ABSTRACT
This paper describes a psychoanalytic process that took place over a 10-year period, and provides a platform for consideration of the technical challenges of analytic work at different development phases. The case also demonstrates the emergence of the capability for transference and the nature of analytic work prior to the development of that capacity, as well as the vicissitudes of analytic work with children who have experienced severe early maltreatment.
