Abstract
Inducing calcium carbonate (CaCO3) precipitation is an active research field for its functional extension. Herein, we presented a simple but efficient method for fast preparation of CaCO3 thin film induced by 1-naphthoic acid (1 N) at organic-aqueous interface. The film structure was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray powder diffractometry. Grain growth and morphology of the quickly formed thin film are described. The results indicate the thickness of the film can reach 5–20 µm, with promotion and acceleration of mineralization between liquid–liquid interface induced by 1 N. These results shed light on the importance of organic molecule-induced crystallization of CaCO3 and open a novel synthetic route for its precipitation.
