ABSTRACT
Optimisation of the tribological properties of aluminium matrix composites (356/B4Cp) fabricated by the stir casting technique using Taguchi’s S/N analysis was studied. L27 OA was chosen for conducting dry sliding wear tests using the pin on disc. The input parameters such as sliding speed, sliding distance, load and reinforcement percentages are optimised with consideration of minimum wear rate and the optimum values are used to conduct confirmation experiments. The significance of the wear parameters was found using ANOVA. The tribological properties were improved through this approach.
