Shannon Toll

SHANNON TOLL is an Associate Professor of Indigenous Literatures and Cultures of North America at the University of Dayton. Her research interests include Native literary studies and theory, gender studies, embodied practices, and film studies. She has published a number of articles and essays focusing on Indigenous performance and writing, including literary works, Native cinema, ballet, and Indigenous dance. Her current research centers on Indigenous Modernisms, and she is working on a book manuscript that studies the careers of Native female performers who earned acclaim as singers, storytellers, and dancers during this era.
