Abstract

In the present study, forced convective heat transfer of a Water-EG coolant has been compared with Water-EG based nanocoolant in a radiator. Conventional coolant Water-EG was considered in the ratio of 70:30 as a base fluid, for that different proportions of 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 Vol% has been prepared by the addition of graphene nanoparticles. Graphene nanofluid was synthesized by two-step method. Experimental studies were conducted in a radiator by altering the flow rates and inlet temperature of the coolant in the ranges of 2, 4, 6 and 8 L/min and 50, 60 and 70 °C. Heat transfer parameters like Heat transfer rate, Convective heat transfer co-efficient, Nusselt number, Reynolds number and friction factor are evaluated experimentally.
