Abstract

In recent decades, nanotechnology has been more and more used in EOR. In particular, the nanoparticle-surfactant nanofluid, which is composed of nanoparticles and surfactants, can play the oil displacement mechanism of surfactant and nanofluid at the same time and has a great application prospect. However, the process of preparing nanoparticle-surfactant nanofluid is complex, so how to select the optimal particles, base solution and binding method is a difficult problem. The purpose of this study is to find the best preparation method of nanoparticle surfactant nanofluid, including the combination method and material selection principle. Through different experimental studies, the reliability of this method to construct high-performance nano surfactant fluid was proved. First, the best selection basis of nanoparticles, surfactants and base solution was summarized. Second, the factors influencing the stability and oil displacement performance of nanofluids were studied, including the type, concentration, particle size, surface charge and wettability of different types of nanoparticles. Finally, the EOR mechanism of nanoparticle-surfactant nanofluid and its possible limitations in EOR application are discussed.
