ABSTRACT
The motivation of this article is to systematically assess the current literature and identify significant research gaps in the field of inland water transportation, with the goal of discovering important publications on sustainability, obstacles, and performance indicators. This article employs data outdrawn from the Scopus database between January 2002 and November 12, 2022. This investigation makes use of the Scopus database to retrieve 142 articles in order to identify the research literature that is pertinent to the areas of sustainability, barriers, and performance criteria of inland water transportation system. These articles were also assessed in terms of scientific production, relevancy, and collaboration. This bibliometric study includes major bibliometric variables such as author, publications, journals, institutions, and nations, as well as co-citation and citation analysis, word co-occurrence, and subject categories. The softwares Microsoft Excel, Biblioshiny R Package software, and VOSviewer were utilized to do the analysis. Effective teamwork between writers and institutions is shown through bibliometric analysis. This study will assist new researchers and enthusiasts in understanding the hotspots, rising challenges, present situation, and accessible chances for collaboration in this field of study.
