ABSTRACT
Strontium/sodium (Sr/Na) co-doped brushite (SSCB) coatings were applied on SiC-modified carbon/carbon composites (SC) with undoped brushite seeds. Undoped brushite seeds were synthesised on SC by the microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, which facilitated the rapid formation of SSCB. SSCB coatings were prepared by an electrochemical deposition method. SSCB coatings could fully cover SC in 10 min with the existence of undoped brushite seeds. It was vertical aligned and exhibited plate shape with 0.5–3.5 μm in width and 30–150 nm in thickness. SSCB coatings exhibited good in-vitro bioactivity in simulated body fluid. SSCB coatings combined with undoped brushite seeds could be used to bioactive modification for biomaterials.
