Residue-torsion and the Laplacian on Riemannian manifolds

Abstract

The Ray–Singer analytic torsion is the classical zeta-trace of a sum of logarithm operators of p-form Laplacians on the de Rham complex. In this article, we examine residue-analytic torsion, defined using the residue trace in place of the zeta function regularised trace.
