Abstract

Both in houses and offices, so many RF devices such as microwave ovens and wireless communication equipment are occupying the environment, and most of them are working in S-band. It is being discussed in the literature that, emitted electromagnetic waves from these devices have negative effects especially both on the elderly and children in the long term. That's why human RF exposure analysis of the radiation caused by the devices and investigation of electromagnetic field suppression techniques using natural materials become inevitable. The dielectric properties of the construction materials such as marbles can be ideal for exploration in the field of biomedical engineering and the construction industry. Specific absorption rate (SAR) is a vital parameter for exposure analysis. This paper investigates the potential usage of marbles to suppress electromagnetic fields in terms of human exposure in S-Band. All in S-band; the first step is to determine and prepare a pre-selection chart for widely used 14 different types of marble and then making an estimation on the specific absorption rate by simulation in human muscle with equivalent tissue properties.
