Abstract
The real and pervasive epidemic our nation is experiencing with burnout in multiple industries, to include healthcare and cyber. The common reasons for burnout are remarkably similar in high stress, high pressure, and high visibility industries such as Healthcare and Cybersecurity. Not only are professionals in these industries expected to function at their highest capacity on a continual, ongoing basis, with minimal resources, budgets, and tools, but they are also mission critical where small mistakes can have a massive detrimental impact. It is time to move into a “work well” mindset by focusing on internal mental health and well-being in leadership so that leaders can lead from within and serve their organizations and their people “well”. By looking at our workforce as a comradery of human beings, it is crucial to understand the five essential parts that make up workforce well-being and the phenomenon of the whole person coming to work.
