Notes on contributors
Dr Lisa Berglund is an assistant professor at Dalhousie University's School of Planning whose research focuses on neighborhood change. Her research is largely cited in contexts undergoing redevelopment after disasters, a context where historic race and class disparities are often reproduced through influx of investment and increased vulnerability of marginalized populations.
Siobhan Gregory is an industrial designer and design anthropologist living and working in Detroit. Her research focuses on the development of more anthropologically based methods of human-centered design practice. In the business sector, she draws on anthropological theory and methods to help organizations form deep and meaningful connections with their customers through culturally informed product development, service innovations, and brand direction. Siobhan works with neighborhood-based community groups in the Jefferson-Chalmers neighborhood on Detroit’s east side to help realize community spaces. She teaches industrial design and ethnographic research methods for designers at Wayne State University.
