Carlos Fuentes
Carlos Fuentes (1928-2012), the Mexican writer and public intellectual, authored many books. His two dozen novels include The Death of Artemio Cruz (1962), Terra Nostra (1975), and The Old Gringo (1985). He also served as Mexico’s ambassador to France from 1975 to 1977, and taught at Princeton and other prominent universities in the U.S.
