Abstract
The laser welding technology parameters of new V-1579 (Al-Mg-Sc) and V-1481 (Al-Cu-Li) alloys were investigated.
Weldability of such alloys was studied. Laser welding conditions and filler materials were selected to provide high weld ductility and impact strength. It was found that weld strength in regard to the parent material was ca. 0.8 for V-1481 alloy and ca. 0.9 for V-1579 alloy.
Structurally similar samples of welded fuselage panel were manufactured based on conducted research. Weld inspection was carried out.
