Abstract
The reactivity of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) toward 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) nickel dibromide complexes [NiBr2(bpy)2] and [NiBr2(phen)2] has been investigated. It was found that this interaction leads to new nickel phosphate complexes [Ni(HPO4)(bpy)2] and [Ni(HPO4)(phen)2]. X-ray crystal structure analysis of the obtained complexes indicates that the nickel ions have a distorted octahedral coordination and doubly bridged by two oxygen atoms of the phosphate moiety.
