Abstract
A convenient procedure for the preparation of (trimethylsilyl)dimethylphosphinite was developed. The synthetic potential of the latter was exemplified by the preparation of dimethylphosphinoyl-derived nitriles, amines, acetone, acetic and acetoacetic acids as valuable building blocks for medicinal and materials chemistry.
