ABSTRACT
On posthuman materiality: art-making as rhizomatic rehearsal engages art-making as a methodology for rehearsing the aesthetics and thematic arguments of the show Animal Parade. The following essay uses the concept of the rhizome, as defined by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, to provide a rehearsal process initiated through the interconnection of objects in art-making. The essay illustrates the value of vital materialism on the creative process and the affective “thing power” of objects in aesthetic concept and design.
