Developing a Protocol for Assessing the Quality of Published Scholarship in Mathematics Based on a Journal Ranking System

Abstract

I describe an assignment by school administrators to develop a journal ranking system for the department of mathematics to be incorporated into our departmental assessment plan for all tenured and tenure track faculty.

Gerri Dunnigan

Dr. Gerri Dunnigan received her B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of North Dakota and her Ph.D. in Statistics from Iowa State University. She is currently an Associate Professor and Chair of the Mathematics Department at the University of North Dakota. Her interests include reading, Sudoku, and NY Times crossword puzzles, playing traditional Irish music on guitar, fiddle and banjo, traveling, and golf and pickleball.
