ABSTRACT
COVID-19 raised the interest in remote work tremendously. In this article, the phenomenon of this increase was assessed, by analyzing tweets on Twitter. It turned out, that the topic of remote work at epidemic peak in March 2020 increased almost 15 times during a year. The sentiment analysis confirmed the approval of remote work by over 60% of its users. The study proved the opinion that it will permanently stay in the post-COVID time.

Stanisław Wrycza
Prof. Stanisław Wrycza is the Head of Department of Business Informatics at University of Gdansk, Poland. His numerous publications address the challenges of Business Informatics, ISD, UML, Remote Work, SCRUM, IT Acceptance Models and Digital Transformation. He is a member of the editorial boards of recognized IS journals. He has been involved in the organization of numerous international conferences, including the European Conference on Information Systems ECIS’2002, and several editions of the annual PLAIS/SIGSAND EuroSymposium since 2007, held at University of Gdansk. He is the President of Polish Chapter of AIS – PLAIS, AIS Outstanding Chapter for the years 2014 and 2016-2019.
Jacek Maślankowski, Ph.D., is a researcher and academic teacher at the Department of Business Informatics at the University of Gdansk. His research activities mostly concern Big Data, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Programming Languages and Information Technologies for Financial Analysts. He is the author of numerous publications regarding Big Data applications. He was a member of the organizing, program and scientific committees at international conferences. He was involved in several different European Union projects. He was involved as the invited speaker of Big Data studies at different universities and organizations in Europe.
