Abstract
Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) can be embedded in different materials to measure different physical parameters. In this article, the sensors fabricated by FDM technology with an FBG inside and outside the PLA material have been explored. The wavelength shifts of two types of rings have varied within the arm angle ranging from 0° to 75°. The experiment results show that the transmission spectrum of the rings is critically dependent on the placement positions of FBG, and the ring with FBG placed inside PLA materials has larger wavelength shift than that of the FBG placed outside.
