Karla Cativo currently works at the Salvadoran American Leadership and Educational Fund (SALEF) where she manages community outreach and organizing efforts in the City of Los Angeles. She also serves as a Part-Time Faculty Instructor in the Department of Central American Studies at California State University, Northridge. Born in El Salvador, Karla and her parents immigrated to the U.S. in 1982.
