About the Author
Amberly Alene Eillis-Rodríguez is a documentary filmmaker and photographer who was born in Baltimore, Maryland but now lives in Cuba. Her work examines issues of race, gender, culture and social mobilization in Latin America and Caribbean. As recipient of many awards, her film on Black Columbian activist Francia Márquez Mina, screened at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C in 2017.
