1. The government of Ecuador made one of the first declarations proposing a legally binding international instrument on business and human rights to be concluded within the UN system. The declaration was joined by the African Group, the Arab Group, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Venezuela, and Peru.
