Notes
1 The authors have chosen ‘Palais du Louvre’ to refer to the historic site where the Louvre Museum is located, and to specify its geographical position in the heart of Paris. As an institution, the Louvre comprises the Palais, the Musée Delacroix in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, and the CCL in Liévin.
2 On this subject, see several articles published in the media from 2013 to 2020, including those by Vogüé (2013), Jaeglé (Citation2017) and Pic (Citation2019), to name just a few.
3 Carbon assessment carried out in October 2023 by Les Augures-Aktio. In assessing the carbon footprint of the construction process, Les Augures-Aktio assumed standard specifications, and the final figure may be reduced through a more meticulous analysis of the exact materials used, their origin and how the construction site was organised.
