ABSTRACT

Molecularly imprinted membranes (MIMs) are selective permeation separation membranes created by molecular imprinting technology (MIT) and membrane separation technology (MST). Depending on specific recognition sites, it has shown excellent binding ability to target molecules. In this review, the recognition and mass transfer mechanisms of MIMs are summarised and analysed. The advantages and disadvantages of different preparation methods are discussed, and the status of MIMs applications in drug, sensors, and biomolecules in recent years are summarised. Finally, the current problems of MIMs and the future prospects of the field are presented.
