Abstract
The current study investigated the effects of a game-based intervention on cognitive function and mood for older adults in South Korea. In a nonrandomized controlled, pretest-posttest study, sixteen older adults were allocated to an intervention or control group. The intervention group received the 10-week cognitive training using Happy Table. The game-based cognitive training intervention significantly improved cognitive function and memory loss, whereas the control group maintained a similar level of impairment. However, there were no significant changes in anxiety and depression for both groups. The implementation of game-based intervention may be promising for improving cognitive abilities for older adults.
