Abstract

The caregiver burden is increasing in the United States; there are fewer family caregivers each year, people with chronic illnesses are living longer, and costs are skyrocketing. The need for quality information is always at the forefront, and the enormous volume of information on the Internet can be overwhelming to a caregiver who is already overtasked. Many quality sites exist for caregivers, ranging from comprehensive collections of resources to very specific topics. Rather than attempting to provide a complete compendium, the resources chosen for this article include general comprehensive sites; guides and handbooks for special audiences or circumstances; benefits and services locators; and resources for end-of-life caregiving.
