Metabolic transfer of electrons by DNA molecule fragments considering the real structure of nucleotides

Pages 102-112 | Published online: 19 Aug 2021

Abstract

Model of DNA molecule with detailed structured complementary nucleotide pairs is considered. The heterogeneity of complementary nucleotide pairs in the form of residual effective electrostatic field is taken into account. The energy spectrum of the conduction band is found. It consists of four sub-bands. The velocities of the injected electron were found for each of the sub-bands as well as the total velocity. The current for characteristic nucleotide chain lengths is estimated. It varies from 150 nA to 1 ÷ 2 nA. It is shown that the decrease in current with length of the DNA strand increase is nonlinear.
