Abstract

The present article deals with Soret Dufour free convective heat and mass transfer of a micropolar fluid over vertical stretching and shrinking sheets embedded in a Darcian porous medium with thermal radiation and magnetic field. We have obtained numerical solutions for the velocity, temperature, microrotation, and solute concentration fields for various values of the thermal radiation and microrotation material parameters, Prandtl number, chemical reaction, magnetic parameter, and Soret-Dufour number. Present results are obtained by using Runge-Kutta Fehlberg method with shooting technique and they are presented graphically and in tabular form for performing a critical analysis of various parametric values. It is explored that the velocity and temperature distribution decrease with enhancement in the Prandtl number and having reverse effects on the concentration distribution. Further, it is noticed that by increasing the values of the thermal radiation parameter, there is a rise in the velocity and temperature distributions. This work would find applications in the field of chemical engineering systems and magnetic materials processing.
