Sara Parker

Sara Parker is the Dean of Social Sciences at Chabot Community College in ​Hayward, California. Prior to serving as an administrator, she taught political science for 15 years as part time faculty, then in a full time position. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis and her MA and PhD in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Delaware. She was a Fulbright Scholar at the China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing in 2015, served as the inaugural Chair of the American Political Science Association's Status Committee on Community College Faculty, and publishes on various aspects of teaching and learning. Sara lives in El Cerrito, CA with her husband and three children.

Erin Richards

Erin Richards is a Senior II Tenured faculty member at Cascadia College which is part of the Washington State Community and Technical College system. At Cascadia, Erin teaches a wide variety of political science courses, and was part of the committee that established the Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Sustainable Practices. Her interests include American Government and voting behavior, State and Local Government, and Women in Politics as well as issues around citizenship and political science education and pedagogy.  She has published on teaching at community colleges, served as the chair of the ad hoc committee on the Status of Community Colleges in the Profession, and currently serves as the first community college faculty member ever elected the governing council for the American Political Science Association.
