ABSTRACT

Energy empowered world increases energy need. Fossil fuels depletion rate increases day by day necessity in search of alternative fuel to fulfill energy requirements of the world. Biodiesel offers the best energy alternative in the modern world. Biodiesel can be a substitute for diesel fuel. In this study, biodiesel is prepared by blending Cottonseed oil with diesel. Raw vegetable oil has some unfavorable physical and chemical properties. Nanoparticles are introduced to stabilize the biodiesel and improve properties by enhancing the quality of the fuel. In this investigation, Cerium oxide is blended with Biodiesel, by using its engine performance and emission characteristics are analyzed and compared with existing diesel. Biodiesel is used as an alternative to diesel. The Cottonseed oil blended Biodiesel is enhanced in properties by addition of Cerium oxide nanoparticle to achieve high calorific value fuel and reduce harmful gases forming in exhaust gas let to the atmosphere. The Biodiesel is blended at different proportions of cottonseed oil and diesel with Cerium oxide as nanoparticles. Experimentation for performance and emission characteristics investigation is done on varying loads. Biodiesel is provided as an alternate solution for fuel demand and pollution less fuel.
