Ana Carina S. Franco
Ana Carina S. Franco is a PhD candidate at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL) and researcher at the Portuguese Institute of International Relations – IPRI-NOVA (fellowship UIDP/04627/2020), as well an independent evaluator of the European Union's external action in peace, conflict, and security. She has extensive international experience as a practitioner in the fields of relief aid, development, and crisis management, mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa. Ana Carina holds a Research Master's Degree (DEA.) in International Relations from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and a licentiate (four-year university degree) in Political Science and International Relations from UNL (Portugal). She is currently researching external interventions, peace- and statebuilding, and conflict dynamics with a focus on West and East Africa.
