ABSTRACT

Females athletes desire compression apparel with a feminine look but function for athletic performance. This study aimed to determine perceived feminine athletic identity and garment functionality of compression garments through an online questionnaire among female athletes. Female athletes felt neutral with their feminine athletic identity while wearing compression apparel. Mobility and durability were satisfactory while fit, comfort, along with donning and doffing were only slightly satisfying. Future changes in compression garment functionality and style could improve the feminine look and garment satisfaction levels for female athletes.
