ABSTRACT

There are a few systematical studies on the programme management for post-ischemic stroke using a specific template as the template for intervention description and replication (TIDieR) to improve outcomes of an intervention. The present study aimed to measure the impact of neurorestoration as a programme management using motor learning apply with a validated TIDieR that was specifically designed for post-ischemic stroke patients. A pre-post-test randomized control trial was conducted on 64 post-acute ischemic stroke patients who had the inclusion criteria in a week. Control groups (n = 32) received the routine mobilization with a conventional method based on hospital procedures, while treatment groups (n = 32) underwent structured motor learning with a modified TIDieR. Motor learning improvement was considered as a functional ability that was measured by applying the Barthel Index. Statistical analysis was performed using the Independent Samples t-test. The improved functional abilities (mean ± SD) were 27.41 ± 20.10 and 41.66 ± 21.66 in control and treatment groups respectively (P = 0.008). The improvement of functional ability in treatment groups was approximately 1.5 times higher than the control groups. Programme management using motor learning through the TIDieR improved functional abilities of post-ischemic stroke patients compared to the conventional method.
