Abstract
This photographic essay shows the inner workings of the complex chain of people and practices that destroy the Amazon forest, mainly centered on cattle raising. The images take us, step by step, to the places and practices that feed the industry’s cycle of destruction.

Victor Moriyama
Victor Moriyama is a documentary photographer, and has been documenting the progress of the destruction of the largest biome on the planet, the Amazon, during the government of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. This long-term project is to culminate in a forthcoming book entitled ‘OCO.’ In his career as a photojournalist, he regularly collaborates for The New York Times and non-governmental organizations working in the areas of climate and environment. His work on the deforestation of the Amazon was awarded at the Visa Pour l'Image festival and was exhibited at COP 21.
