Colette Balmain
Dr Colette Balmain is a Senior Lecturer in Media & Communication at Kingston University. Her research specialises in East Asian Cinemas and cultures with particular focus on gothic and horror genres. Her first book was Introduction to Japanese Horror Film (EUP: 2008) and she is currently completing a short book on East Asian Gothic Cinema. Concurrently she is an editor for a major collection of essays on BTS as well as working on a monograph on the group, provisionally titled Beyond the Symbolic: Performative Masculinity, Authenticity and Emotionality in BTS. She is a reviewer for Gothic Studies and the East Asian Journal of Popular Culture. She also writes for London Korean Links, easternKicks.com, Asian Movie Pulse and View of the Arts.
