Abstract
The present study intends to present a review of automated methods for the determination of Captopril—an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor—using flow or sequential injection analysis. The review covers a range of more than fifteen years of published research on this topic (1993–today). The methods are classified according to the detection systems in three categories, namely spectrophotometric, chemiluminescence, and electroanalytical. The principles and main analytical figures of merit of the reported studies are presented and discussed.
