ABSTRACT

In this work, we analyse the existence of solutions to the nonlinear elliptic system: -Δu=vq+αginΩ,-Δv=|u|p+λfinΩ,u=v=0onΩ,u,v0inΩ,

where Ω is a bounded domain of RN and p1, q>0 with pq>1. f, g are nonnegative measurable functions with additional hypotheses and α,λ0. As a consequence we show that the fourth-order problem Δ2u=|u|p+λ~f~inΩ,u=Δu=0onΩ,

has a solution for all p>1, under suitable conditions on f~ and λ~.
