Scott Straus is Professor of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is the author most recently of Making and Unmaking Nations: War, Leadership, and Genocide in Modern Africa (Cornell University Press, 2015) and the co-editor, with Steve Stern, of The Human Rights Paradox: Universality and Its Discontents (University of Wisconsin Press, 2014).
