Simulation of the Mechanically Induced Self-Propagating Reactions: Theoretical Estimation for MSRs Ignition Time in Zn–S–Sn System

Pages 34-46 | Received 04 Dec 2012, Accepted 16 Sep 2013, Published online: 10 Oct 2013

Abstract

The principal parameter of mechanically stimulated self-propagating reactions (MSRs), the induction period of the ignition of combustion, was numerically calculated by taking into account the heat effects of chemical reactions. Accompanying phenomena and MSRs features were studied and discussed. The results were compared with experimental data on the Zn–S–Sn system.
