Abstract

The bias field-temperature, E-T, phase diagram for 0.87PbMg 1/3 Nb 2/3 O 3 -0.13PbTiO 3 crystals has been obtained by using two different techniques, dielectric spectroscopy and elastic compliance. The temperature dependence of both the dielectric permittivity and elastic compliance provide a step corresponding to the phase boundary between the relaxor and ferroelectric phases. In comparison with the phase diagram of pure PbMg 1/3 Nb 2/3 O 3 , the result obtained shows an additional, nearly vertical line, which lies close to the Vogel-Fulcher temperature.
